Beard Balm vs Beard Oil | Benefits and Differences

Beard Balm vs Beard oil.. What's the difference?

The first thing to know is that Beard oil will leave you with a slicker and shinier finish and seeps in to your facial pores to help moisturise your skin underneath. Beard balm specialises in conditioning your beard, gives you a stronger hold and more of a matte finish.

We believe these two are a match made in beard heaven! Because every beard is different, you’ll need to create a routine that works best for you. Our rule of thumb is that for shorter beards, beard oil is ideal, whereas for longer beards, the balm is what you're looking for. That being said, there’s no reason you can’t use beard balm and beard oil at the same time. Think of these products as the Batman and Robin of the beard world. Great on their own, but unstoppable together.

Here we’ve compiled a list of the ways you can use the two products together:

  • Beard balm gives your beard a flatter, matte finish and hold. Whereas beard oil gives your beard a moisturised, shiny, slick finish. Decide which look you’re after that day, and go from there.
  • After you shower, apply our Beard Oil to your hair’s roots, rubbing it in deeply to moisturise your skin and hair. Then, apply our Beard Balm to the outside of your beard and moustache to give it extra hold.
  • You can apply one in the morning and one at night - depending on your personal tastes and needs.
